Sustainability Asunción

To educate is also to act

At Instituto Asunción we believe that education also means action. Faced with environmental deterioration and its social consequences, for more than 20 years, we have been promoting the Asunción Sustainability Program: a living initiative that seeks to raise awareness, transform habits and build a responsible community with the environment.

This program involves students, families and staff, and invites us to live ecology from a human, Christian and solidary point of view, at the service of life and social justice.

What are we looking for?

  • To be a community that cares, respects and transforms, with a sensitive and responsible lifestyle.
  • Respond to the Church's call, through the Encyclical Laudato Sí, to protect our common home.
  • Promote a sustainable environment where environmental care and social justice go hand in hand.
  • To favor the circular economy with the aim of reducing, reusing and recycling, extending the life cycle of materials and uniforms and minimizing waste.

Our main lines of action

  • JPICS: Justice, Peace, Integrity of Creation and Solidarity, one of the criteria of the Assumption identity, to educate in respect for creation with the commitment of each member of the educational community.
  • Caring for the common home: small daily actions with an impact on the environment.
  • Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): education and habits that build a just and sustainable future.
